About LawBriefly
Modernizing legal education, bare act study, and statutory research for the next generation of legal professionals in India.

LawBriefly: Clarity in Indian Law
Delivering clean, indexed, and offline-accessible Bare Acts alongside structured examination preparation modules.
Indian jurisprudence encompasses centuries of central acts, evolving state amendments, and newly codified criminal frameworks such as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Traditional physical Bare Acts are bulky, static, and difficult to cross-reference rapidly during moot courts, classes, or trial preparation.
LawBriefly was born with a singular mission: to make Indian statutory law accessible, readable, tactile, and structured for every legal learner through modern mobile technology.
- Offline-First SQLite Snapshot: Over 14,000 legislative nodes, sections, chapters, and amendments bundled directly on-device in `lawyer_legal_snapshot.db`, ensuring instantaneous access in internet-restricted courtrooms.
- Tactile Reader Architecture: Distinct typographical treatment for Provisos, Exceptions, Explanations, Illustrations, and Editorial Amendments based on the Google Stitch Juris design language.
- Study Annotations & Bookmarks: Personal section notes and bookmarks that save locally first and seamlessly synchronize to cloud storage when online.
- Curated Examination Engine: Timed mock examinations with multiple-choice questions, automated finalization, and objective scoring.
- Legal Updates: Automated legal news aggregation filtering developments across the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, Parliament, and Central Government.
LawBriefly is engineered using high-performance, robust open-source technologies:
- Client Application: Built with Expo React Native, TypeScript, Expo SQLite, and Tailwind CSS (NativeWind).
- Backend Services: Next.js 16 App Router powering automated synchronization and compliance endpoints.
- Database & Authentication: Supabase PostgreSQL with strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies and AES-256 cloud encryption.
- Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) with granular user-controlled topic preference toggles.
