LawBriefly Account & Data Deletion
Official process for requesting permanent account deletion and erasure of your personal study data in accordance with Google Play Store Policies and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
If you created an account in the LawBriefly Android application, you can initiate the permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data via email, even if you have already uninstalled the application from your device.
At LawBriefly, we respect your statutory right to data autonomy and erasure under Section 12 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Google Play Developer Program Policies.
To safeguard our users against fraudulent or unauthorized deletions, all account deletion requests are processed manually by our verification team after confirming ownership of the registered email address.
Please follow these 4 steps to submit your deletion request:
Send from your registered email
Ensure you send the email directly from the email address registered with your LawBriefly account (or your linked Google Account). Requests originating from unverified third-party addresses cannot be processed.

Include your registered email address in the email body and state clearly that you request the permanent deletion of your LawBriefly account.
Review and processing timeline
Our team will review your request and aim to process it within 7 working days. We may reply to your email if additional confirmation is needed to verify account ownership.

Once your request is verified and processed, the following personal data associated with your account will be permanently erased:
In accordance with Section 8(7) of the DPDP Act, 2023, certain limited operational records may be retained temporarily:
- Security & Abuse Logs: Transient server access and rate-limiting logs are retained for up to 90 days solely for infrastructure security and fraud prevention.
- Anonymous Statistics: High-level non-personal aggregated metrics (such as total app installs) that contain zero personal data and cannot be linked to any individual.
- Public Statutory Content: Bare acts, legislative amendments, and public legal news remain unaffected as public domain references.
Our verification and processing workflow follows these parameters:
- Target Processing Time: We aim to review and process verified requests within 7 working days of receipt.
- Statutory Maximum: In all cases, requests are finalized well within the 30-day statutory window prescribed under Section 12 of the DPDP Act, 2023.
- Completion Confirmation: A written confirmation will be sent to your registered email address once deletion is finalized.
